After Yokohama Port was opened in 1859, many foreign merchants moved to Yokohama, specially Yamate area where is a hill close to the harbour. It remains as a calm residential area with foreign touch. The foreigners' cemetery, the Italian garden and the former mansions of western merchants can still be found in this area. The latest check-out time is 10:00am.
