Nestled in tranquil surroundings overlooking the historic Richmond bridge, The Original Bridge Cottages (1823) were built by convicts in 1823. One of the first cottages to be built in Richmond and used to house the Sargeant who oversaw the building of the Historic Richmond Bridge which was also constructed in 1823. On entering the cottages the peace of yesteryear enfolds you as you step back in time. The adults-only cottages each feature a wood fire and French doors which open on to a relaxing courtyard. Guests at Bridge Cottages receive complimentary port and chocolates on arrival.

Both cottages are comfortable and feature electric heaters and underfloor heating. Each has comfortable queen size beds with electric blankets. The country style kitchens are fully equipped, a second living area has a dining and seating area with a sofa lounge, TV, DVD and CD player. Both cottages have a laundry with a washing machine and clothes dryer and a private bathroom with shower over bath, hairdryer, shampoos and conditioners.
